Over a career spanning more than 40 years, Dr. Sarah B. Steinberg has had three major careers: engineering, leadership in higher education administration, and CEO-level entrepreneurship.
Leveraging these years of experience and a desire to mentor emerging leaders in higher education, Dr. Steinberg provides 1:1 and group discussions to help you discover and develop customized approaches to career advancement.
Retired (2023) as Provost and Senior Vice President for the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC), Dr. Sarah B. Steinberg was the Chief Academic Officer and senior strategic leader with a focus on innovation in online education. Retention and degree completion, workforce development, national and international academic programming, and the intersection of technology and education remain at the forefront of her interests. She holds the title of Provost Emeritus UAGC.
Presently, Sarah is an advisor to university presidents and other senior leaders on strategic planning issues related to the rapidly expanding field of post-traditional adult education. She works with edtech firms in the higher ed ecosystem, advising on strategies to effectively create partnerships with universities and colleges domestically and internationally. She is also an Adjunct Faculty member at Georgetown University and the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to her service at UAGC, Sarah served in several leadership roles at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore for 20 years, including Executive Vice Provost for Online and Graduate Part-time Education. In 2014, Sarah founded Frogstone Strategies, a nationally recognized higher education consulting firm specializing in advising leaders in adult and online professional and continuing education.
B.S. and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering from Cornell University, MBA in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania.
